This attack, perpetrated by so-called “protesters,” left multiple police officers injured and highlighted the ever-present threat of liberal extremism against law enforcement and our nation’s immigration laws.
The night of June 14, 2025, saw a large-scale protest devolve into a full-blown riot at the ICE facility in Portland’s South Waterfront.
Federal officers, faced with an onslaught of fireworks, smoke grenades, and rocks, had no choice but to respond with force to disperse the unruly crowd.
The scene became more volatile as rioters used a stop sign to shatter a glass door, breaching the facility and escalating tensions further.
Efforts required a declaration of a riot, with orders issued for everyone to vacate the premises.
As the protest continued, masked individuals clashed with federal enforcement officers, who defended the area using smoke, tear gas, and flash grenades.
The volatile event stemmed from an initially peaceful gathering, with smaller groups branching off to attack the ICE facility.
Despite increased numbers, Portland Police’s Rapid Response Team and bicycle units remained largely uninvolved, watching as federal officials took control.
Nonetheless, as the chaos unfolded, several temporary arrests were made, including instances of arson and assault on police officers.
The violence peaked when rioters breached the building, which triggered a robust response from law enforcement.
“We will NOT be deterred by rioters’ intimidation and threats. ICE immigration enforcement will only ramp up,” said the Department of Homeland Security.
One vocal protester, Jordan Wilcox, criticized the government’s enforcement measures, arguing that they infringed upon due process rights.
However, as law-abiding American citizens understand, the real issue lies in maintaining safety and order, not bowing to the demands of radicals who disregard our laws.
By 9 p.m., authorities had stabilized the area with one arrest and one officer injured.
Although the riot declaration was retracted, the events of that evening remain a reminder of the lengths some will go to in undermining our nation’s immigration policy.
In a statement, Homeland Security condemned the violence and assured that enforcement actions would only intensify in the face of intimidation and threats.
In times like these, it’s crucial to support law enforcement and resist the urge to surrender to those using chaos as their language of negotiation.
