California police arrested seven foreign nationals linked to a $2 million jewelry store heist, exposing yet another danger of our nation’s unsecured borders as international crime rings exploit America’s vulnerability.
The Glendale Police Department apprehended the group after they allegedly cut through the roof of a local jewelry store on May 27, making off with approximately $2 million worth of merchandise.
Store owner Manial Bidrussian described the devastating aftermath in stark terms that reveal the violent nature of these criminals.
“They cleaned everything, and they made it into a warzone. As I’ve been telling everybody else, it’s like a battle, a war happened in here,” said Bidrussian.
The brazen heist occurred around 1 a.m., with the criminals employing sophisticated tactics including signal jammers and wire-cutting to disable security systems.
Following the May robbery, Glendale police investigators developed leads that identified the suspects as part of an international crime ring.
According to police statements, these aren’t amateur thieves but experienced criminals who brought their criminal expertise across our borders: “Seven men accused of committing jewelry heists in their ‘countries of origin’ have crossed the border into the U.S. to commit similar crimes,” Fox News reports.
The foreign nationals were planning another heist when law enforcement caught up with them.
“On the evening of Sunday, June 29, 2025, investigators received information indicating that the suspects were preparing to target another jewelry store, Rodeo Jewelers, located at 1560 Foothill Boulevard in the City of La Verne,” police reported.
Law enforcement coordinated a multi-agency operation to apprehend the thieves as they attempted another roof entry.
Seven suspects were arrested at the scene, though an eighth suspect remains at large and potentially dangerous.
The arrested individuals include Jose Millafil, Javier Sepulveda, Cristian Gonzalezaburto, Luka Pazitiani, Vera Matias, Victor Iturriagalopez, and Edson Gonzalez.
“As the suspects attempted to gain entry through the roof, law enforcement officers coordinated to take the group into custody. The suspects also used signal jammers and cut wires to the location during the incident,” the Glendale Police Department stated.
This case highlights a growing threat to American businesses and communities as international criminals exploit our porous borders.
The Glendale Police Department confirmed: “All suspects are foreign nationals believed to be involved in similar crimes spanning both their countries of origin and the United States.”
The crime spree may be more widespread than currently known.
A nearby jewelry store in El Monte was recently ransacked with losses estimated at $1.5 million, though investigators have not yet confirmed whether the same group is responsible for that theft.
Law enforcement officials believe a professional theft ring is targeting Los Angeles County jewelry stores.
The Glendale Police Department is urging anyone with information about these crimes to contact their Burglary Unit as they continue investigating what could be a much larger international criminal enterprise operating freely within our borders.
