The tragic and devastating loss of six-year-old twin girls, Emily and Kenni Bisson, crushed by a fallen maple tree as they slept, has shaken the nation and left their town in mourning.

As meteorologists confirmed the severity of the storm, the heartbreaking tale unfolded.

Shortly after 4 a.m. on Sunday, the tempest unleashed its fury, uprooting one particularly massive maple tree that brutally struck the Bisson home.

Recently relocated to the area, their mother, Kayleigh Bisson, was alerted by the terrifying collapse of the roof.

Her desperate 911 call was followed by anguishing cries for help.

Despite the brave actions of neighbors Jared Bowman and Rick Carollo, who rushed to the scene, the force of nature had already claimed its victims.

“I found the mother in the front window,” recalled neighbor Rick Carollo, who faced the grim reality of a mother’s worst nightmare in those desperate moments, cited by The Daily Mail.

Emergency responders fought valiantly to reach the trapped family members, but the twins could not be revived.

This incident marks a tragic day indeed, as community members recall the vibrant presence of the twins in their first-grade class at Clinton Elementary School.

“Earlier today, a severe weather emergency in our community resulted in the tragic loss of life, including two of our elementary students,” lamented Christopher Clancy, the Superintendent of the school district.

In response, a community-wide effort was launched, staggering the small hamlet.

A GoFundMe page was established to support Kayleigh Bisson in covering the overwhelming costs of the funeral services and her path forward.

Meanwhile, the storm’s destruction rippled throughout Clark Mills, toppling trees, snapping utility poles, and blocking roads.

At least one other tragic fatality has been acknowledged: the unfortunate death of Shelly Johnson.

Gov. Kathy Hochul swiftly declared a state of emergency across 32 counties, encompassing her commitment to the safety and restoration of affected areas.

In the days ahead, as the National Weather Service examines the damage and the town grapples with its unimaginable loss, the focus lies squarely on healing and resilience.

Echoing across online platforms and the hearts of many, this sorrowful story serves as a stark reminder of nature’s unpredictable might and the inevitable vulnerability of humanity.
