(TheRedAlertNews.com) – In yet another underhanded move, Joe Biden wants to mobilize and weaponize the mainstream media against House Republicans’ impeachment investigation.
A day after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced the launch of the impeachment proceedings against Biden, the White House drafted a letter to the CEOs of several mainstream news outlets, urging them to boost their scrutiny of House Republicans.
CNN, as cited by National Review, obtained and leaked the draft letter. It was set to be sent out on Wednesday.
“It’s time for the media to ramp up its scrutiny of House Republicans for opening an impeachment inquiry based on lies,” wrote Ian Sams, a spokesman for the White House Counsel’s Office.
“Covering impeachment as a process story – Republicans say X, but the White House says Y – is a disservice to the American public who relies on the independent press to hold those in power accountable,” the Biden operative added.
“And in the modern media environment, where every day liars and hucksters peddle disinformation and lies everywhere from Facebook to Fox, process stories that fail to unpack the illegitimacy of the claims on which House Republicans are basing all their actions only serve to generate confusion, put false premises in people’s feeds, and obscure the truth,” Sams elaborated.
While the actual letter doesn’t contain a list of the mainstream media to which it is addressed, another White House official reportedly told the outlet it was going to leftist organizations, such as The New York Times, CNN, CBS News, The Associated Press, among others, but also the conservative Fox News.
On Tuesday, House Speaker McCarthy declared the launch of the impeaching inquiry into President Biden based on at least six major crime allegations involving him and the entire Biden family.
Those range from the $20 million in cash wire transfers received by Biden family members from Communist China, Putin’s Russia, and other foreign nations to the alleged US Justice Department shielding of First Son Hunter Biden from severe federal charges.
“This logical next step will give our committees the full power to gather all the facts and answers for the American public. It’s exactly what we want to know – the answers. I believe the president would want to answer these questions and allegations as well,” McCarthy told reporters.
