Trump, RFK Jr Exchange Blows

Donald Trump

( – Donald Trump, the likely Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential election, has harshly criticized the independent campaign of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. through a series of social media posts, with Kennedy responding in kind.

Writing on Truth Social over the weekend, Trump expressed his preference for even Joe Biden over Kennedy, concluding his series of attacks by asserting that Democrats “deserve” the independent candidate.

Trump recounted observing Kennedy persuasively advocating for environmental policies to former Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, which he described as “outright NASTY.”

“I lived with RFK Jr. in New York and watched him convince Governor Cuomo to make Environmental moves that were outright NASTY. Upstate New York was not allowed to drill or frack as Ohio, Pennsylvania, and others ripped off New York Energy. Because of this, prices have skyrocketed all over that part of the Country, but especially Upstate New York and New England. Their Energy Costs are the highest in the U.S., with the exception of California, run by Gavin Newscum, the Worst Governor in the State’s History,” the former president wrote.

Further, Trump expressed a dire outlook on Kennedy’s potential presidency, cited by The Daily Caller.

“I’d even take Biden over Junior, because our Country would last a year or two longer prior to collapse – But it would be dead either way. His Views on Vaccines are FAKE, as is everything else about his Candidacy. Let the Democrats have RFK Jr. They deserve him!” he added.

In his initial post, Trump labeled Kennedy as a “Democrat ‘Plant’,” arguing that a vote for him equates to “a WASTED PROTEST VOTE.”

In another post, Trump criticized Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, accusing her of financially exploiting her spouse: “her business was doing surgery on her husband’s wallet.”

Kennedy responded to Trump’s remarks on X.

“When frightened men take to social media they risk descending into vitriol, which makes them sound unhinged. President Trump’s rant against me is a barely coherent barrage of wild and inaccurate claims that should best be resolved in the American tradition of presidential debate,” he wrote.

Kennedy has successfully gained ballot access for the 2024 election in the crucial swing state of Michigan.

In Michigan, recent polling data from Quinnipiac shows Trump leading Biden by 49% to 46%. With Kennedy considered in the race, he holds 9% of the vote share, with his presence detracting more from Biden—who drops to 40%—than from Trump, who adjusts to 43%.

Additionally, Kennedy has achieved polling figures of 11% in Nevada, 10% in Arizona, and 7% in Georgia.
