Biden Gets Bad News

Bad News

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – Underscoring the left’s discontent over America’s refusal to provide relief to terrorists, and the right’s calls for stronger support for Israel, a recent CBS News/YouGov poll indicates a significant decline in American public approval of Joe Biden’s handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The survey, conducted among 2,144 U.S. adult residents in early December, shows a disapproval rating of approximately 61%, an increase from the 56% disapproval rating recorded in October. Conversely, only 39% of respondents approve of Biden’s approach to the conflict, down from 44% in the previous poll.

The poll also reveals a partisan divide in the approval ratings. Democratic approval has slightly decreased to 63%, down from 66% in October. Republican support is substantially lower at 22%, a decrease from 28% in the previous month. Among independents, approval stands at 35%, showing a marginal decline from 39%.

The age demographic also plays a role in the approval ratings. Young voters aged 18 to 29 are evenly split, with 50% disapproval and approval each. Disapproval ratings are higher among older age groups, with 68% of those aged 30 to 44, 63% of those aged 45 to 64, and 60% of those 65 and older disapproving of Biden’s handling of the conflict.

Despite the significant concern over Biden’s approach to the Israel-Hamas situation, this issue ranks lower in priority compared to other national problems such as inflation, immigration, the state of democracy, and the border.

Interestingly, another poll by The Associated Press and NORC Center for Public Affairs Research suggests an uptick in Democratic support for Biden’s handling of the conflict, rising to 59% in December from 50% in November. This increase comes amid intensified White House calls for Israel to minimize civilian casualties in Gaza, currently under Hamas control.

Biden has consistently supported Israel’s right to self-defense following the surprise assault by Hamas on October 7, which resulted in over 1,200 Israeli fatalities. However, the subsequent Israeli campaign in Gaza, which has led to over 10,000 deaths, has prompted Democratic lawmakers to urge Biden to advocate for a permanent ceasefire and impose conditions on aid to Israel.
