Breaking Trump Court Decision

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – The leftist judicial onslaught against leading 2024 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has scored a big win through a turnaround as an appeals judge has reversed his earlier decision and re-imposed a gag order on the former president in his $250 million civil fraud trial.

On Thursday, a New York appeals court reinstated a gag order on former President Donald Trump, which was previously issued by the judge presiding over his civil fraud trial on charges filed by Democrat NY Attorney General Letitia James.

This order prevents Trump from making public comments about members of Judge Arthur Engoron’s staff and also reinstates fines of $5,000 and $10,000 imposed on Trump for previous violations of the order.

This decision came after Associate Justice David Friedman had temporarily suspended the order on November 16.

“Now, upon reading and filing the papers with respect to the motion, and due deliberation having been had thereon…It is ordered that the motion is denied; the interim relief granted by order of a Justice of this Court, dated November 16, 2023, is hereby vacated,” reads Friedman’s decision, as cited by The Daily Caller.

Engoron initially issued the gag order in October following a post by Trump on Truth Social, where he referred to Engoron’s law clerk, Allison Greenfield, as the “girlfriend” of Democrat Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Then, in early November, the scope of the order was broadened to include Trump’s attorneys, due to their “on the record, repeated, inappropriate remarks” about Greenfield.

Trump’s legal team contended that Engoron was using the order to unfairly penalize Trump for his statements outside the court.

Their argument was that the order represented an “unfettered license to inflict public punishments on a defendant for the defendant’s out-of-court statements,” according an ABC News report.

Trump has been fined twice for defying this order. The first fine was for not removing the aforementioned Truth Social post from his campaign website for 17 days.

The second fine was imposed following comments Trump made to reporters outside the courtroom, where he described a person next to Engoron as “very partisan.”

In September, Engoron ruled that Trump had exaggerated his net worth and overvalued his assets, resulting in fraud against banks and insurance companies.

Additionally, Trump’s request for a mistrial based on claims of “tangible and overwhelming” evidence of bias was dismissed by Engoron, who labeled the motion “utterly without merit.”
