Cop Ambushed; Killed In Patrol Car; Manhunt Underway

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – HAPPENING NOW: A Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff was ambushed, shot, and killed while sitting in his patrol car. A massive manhunt is underway for the killer.

Specifically, the deputy was fatally shot while in his patrol car. Adding to the tragedy, the officer had gotten engaged just four days before his murder.

The 30-year-old deputy, Ryan Clinkunbroomer, was found unresponsive near the Palmdale sheriff’s station around 6 p.m., as stated by Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna in a press briefing.

The injured deputy was quickly transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster, a distance of about 10 miles. Upon arrival, he was in critical condition but later passed away from the severity of his wound.

Luna expressed his distress about why the deputy was targeted, saying, “I’m assuming at this point because he was in uniform. That, to me, is sickening.”

The perpetrator of this heinous crime has not been captured.

Luna, expressing determination, said, “We’re gonna catch the person who did this. Every resource that the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has to bear is going after you.”

Luna provided information about a video being studied by investigators. The footage reveals a vehicle approaching a LASD car when the fatal shots were fired.

Another clip, scrutinized by Fox News journalist Bill Melugin, reportedly shows a black vehicle drawing near the deputy’s car when he was halted at a traffic light close to the station. This vehicle is seen swiftly driving away after the deputy’s car starts to move and then stops.

Emphasizing the urgency of apprehending the criminal(s), Luna called upon the community for support, saying, “We really need your help. We need to get this guy off the street. Guy or guys,” and adding, “He’s a public safety threat. He ambushed and killed one of our deputies.”
