(TheRedAlertNews.com) – HAPPENING NOW: The White House has confirmed that First Lady Jill Biden has tested positive for COVID-19.
During the preceding three-day weekend, she was with President Biden.
Elizabeth Alexander, Jill Biden’s communications director, made an announcement late on Monday, stating:
“This evening, the First Lady tested positive for COVID-19. She is currently experiencing only mild symptoms. She will remain at their home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.”
Following the news of the First Lady’s positive test, President Biden underwent testing for the virus.
Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, shared, “The President will test at a regular cadence this week and monitor for symptoms.” The President’s first test returned a negative result.
Later this week, President Biden is set to leave for the Group of 20 summit in India.
The President and the First Lady made a trip together to Florida over the weekend, and later to their beach residence in Rehoboth Beach, so there are concerns that he may test positive.
It’s worth noting that both the President and the First Lady have had previous encounters with the virus.
Jill Biden tested positive in August 2022, while the President was diagnosed in July 2022. Both of them experienced mild symptoms and made full recoveries.
Both are fully vaccinated and have had all boosters.
