Leftist Abortion Action

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – After their devastating defeat with the demise of Roe v. Wade in June 2022, as per the decision of the US Supreme Court, the lefty crowd is now gearing up for an all-out onslaught to impose abortion on the nation, including by pursuing abortion ballot measures in nine states in 2024.

Progressivist activists across the United States are mobilizing to gather signatures for various abortion-related ballot initiatives as the 2024 elections approach.

This surge in activity follows a series of victories in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 50-year-old case that made abortion legal nationwide, Breitbart News points out in a report.

The Supreme Court’s Dobbs ruling reversed Roe v. Wade, which had established a federal “right” to abortion, shifting the authority back to individual states and their legislators.

This has transformed the dynamic between anti-abortion advocates and the abortion rights movement.

In response, pro-abortion groups and activists, supported by major far-left organizations such as Planned Parenthood and the ACLU, have strategically focused on state-level ballot initiatives to strengthen and expand abortion rights.

This approach has proven effective so far, Breitbart observes, as, since the Dobbs decision, all abortion-related ballot measures have passed.

In the 2022 special elections, Kansas voters rejected a proposal stating that the state Constitution does not protect the right to abortion.

In the 2022 midterm elections, California, Michigan, and Vermont voters enshrined abortion rights into their state constitutions.

Meanwhile, Montana rejected a measure granting rights to infants born alive after failed abortions, and Kentucky voters declined an amendment similar to Kansas’.

On November 7, Ohioans also voted to enshrine the supposed “right” to abortion in their state Constitution through Issue 1.

The report notes ballot initiatives are a potent tactic for they effectively alter state constitutions. They supersede laws enacted by state legislatures and can only be reversed by another ballot measure.

These initiatives often receive substantial financial support from national left-leaning groups, out-of-state donors, and wealthy individuals, frequently outspending anti-abortion organizations.

Looking ahead to the next election cycle, the following nine states are key focal points for these initiatives: Nebraska, South Dakota, Missouri, Florida, Arizona, Nevada, Maryland, New York, and Colorado.
