Obama Attacks Israel

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – Barack Obama no longer hesitates to show his true anti-Western and anti-Israel face – as he has come up with thinly veiled criticism attacking crucial US ally Israel for daring to defend itself after the atrocious October 7 terrorist attack against it by the Palestinian group Hamas.

In the attack, Hamas and its sister Islamist terrorist group, Islamic Jihad, slaughtered sadistically over 1,400 civilians, including 30 Americans.

Obama, who had earlier suggested that Israel should take action against Hamas, has now expressed concerns about how Israel is handling the Palestinian organization.

“Israel has a right to defend its citizens against such wanton violence, and I fully support President Biden’s call for the United States to support our long-time ally in going after Hamas, dismantling its military capabilities, and facilitating the safe return of hundreds of hostages to their families,” the Democrat heavyweight wrote on Monday.

“But even as we support Israel, we should also be clear that how Israel prosecutes this fight against Hamas matters,” Obama cautioned, as cited by Breitbart News.

He then slammed the Jewish State for failing to account for the “human costs” of its resistance to Hamas’ terrorism.

“The world is watching closely as events in the region unfold, and any Israeli military strategy that ignores the human costs could ultimately backfire… it could further harden Palestinian attitudes for generations, erode global support for Israel, play into the hands of Israel’s enemies, and undermine long term efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region,” the former president argued.

Some argue that Israel’s actions in Gaza could be justified under international law. Isaac Herzog, Israel’s ceremonial president, highlighted that Gaza only receives a minor portion (7%) of its water from Israel.

Despite the criticisms, it’s noteworthy that Israel has often been praised for its human rights record in warfare situations, Breitbart points out.

“No other country with comparable internal and external threats has as good a human rights record as Israel,” as noted by Alan Dershowitz, a professor emeritus at Harvard Law School,

Former President Obama faced criticism during his presidency over his counter-terrorism strategies. Thus, Foreign Affairs magazine stated:

[W]hereas [George W.] Bush’s approach was sometimes marred by an overly aggressive posture, Obama has sometimes erred too far in the other direction, seeming prone to idealism and wishful thinking.”
