Star Football Player Killed While Saving Girlfriend

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – The esteemed football athlete Chazan Page met a tragic end after being struck by a hit-and-run driver, following his courageous act of saving his girlfriend, Jada Jernigan, from being hit by the oncoming car.

This incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, as confirmed by the police, The Daily Caller reports.

The distressing incident unfolded at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Gallatin Pike, near the vicinity of Marion Avenue, in Nashville, Tennessee.

While attempting to cross the street, Page and his girlfriend were in the path of an approaching red sedan or compact SUV, believed to have been driving at an excessively high speed.

According to News Channel 5, Page’s quick thinking allowed him to push his girlfriend to safety, only to be hit himself by the vehicle, whose driver subsequently left the scene.

In the wake of this tragedy, the Metro Nashville police have been actively seeking witnesses to further their investigation, as Page’s family is engulfed in grief.

His mother, Lawanda, expressed a heartfelt plea for assistance in solving the case.

“Just come forward and help us put this case to rest,” she told News Channel 5.

Despite being swiftly transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center post-incident, Page succumbed to his injuries.

A cherished figure within the Tennessee State University football team, Page is now celebrated for his valor and selflessness.

This sentiment was echoed by the university’s athletics department, which, through TSU Director of Athletics Dr. Mikki Allen, issued a tribute emphasizing Page’s inspirational qualities.

“He helped bring out the best in others with his outstanding leadership on and off the field, positive attitude, and genuine care for the people around him,” Allen declared, according to WSMV 4 News.

“It is extremely difficult to lose a member of our athletics family, and we mourn the loss of Chazan,” he added.

Additionally, Allen commemorated Page in a social media homage, recognizing him as an exceptional individual and leader within the TSU community.

The broader football community, including UCLA’s Head Coach Jamie Graham, also offered condolences.

“Can’t even find the words. Please pray for the Page Family. We will miss you Chazan,” Graham wrote on X.

Page’s promising career is highlighted by his participation in 28 games for TSU, including starts in all 11 games over the last two seasons, showcasing the potential that was tragically cut short.
