(TheRedAlertNews.com) – Joe Biden’s political legacy has grown more troubled as the Gold Star families of the 13 US service members slaughtered during his botched Afghanistan pullout last year have testified to Congress.
The 13 US troops perished in an Islamist terrorist attack by a suicide bomber at the airport in Kabul on August 26, 2021.
They were guarding the evacuation of American citizens and allies after Biden first executed a complete withdrawal and then rushed forces back in to help fly people out of Afghanistan.
“Not a single person has been held accountable. Our so-called leader can’t seem to even utter their names in public, not even once,” declared Mark Schmitz, the father of slain Marine Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz, as cited by The New York Post.
The report stresses the Gold Star families’ ferocious scolding of Biden “finally found voice” with their testimony to the Republican-led House Foreign Affairs Committee last week.
“They told their stories eloquently, with dignity, anger and still-raw pain. A wrong has been done, no one has been held to account and no lessons have been learned,” the Post comments.
It emphasizes that the stories of the 13 killed troops’ families have been “ignored” by mainstream media as “inconvenient” and “buried by Google search and a breezy Wikipedia” article.
The report notes Biden’s meeting with the Gold Star families when their fallen loved ones were brought back home worsened matters. The president kept checking his watch and compared their loss to his son Beau, who died in hospital of brain cancer six years after his Iraq deployment.
“You are a disgrace to this nation. You have no business having ultimate command over our military, and I regret not saying that to your face when I had the opportunity in Dover,” Schmitz said regarding Biden during his congressional testimony.
“You, sir, stole their lives, their futures, their dreams and have ripped apart 13 families. You cannot even man up and admit that,” the bereaved father added.
Similar conclusions were drawn by a new book called “Kabul, The Untold Story of Biden’s Fiasco and the American Warriors Who Fought to the End,” by former Army Capt. James Hasson and Washington Examiner reporter Jerry Dunleavy.
“Biden did not receive a single military recommendation or intelligence assessment telling him that a full US withdrawal would be anything but a disaster,” the authors concluded.
