During her recent concert at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, Madonna scolded a fan for sitting down before realizing the person was in a wheelchair.
This incident unfolded in front of 18,000 people in the packed arena, and has sparked immediate backlash on social media.
The legendary star, during her “Celebration Tour,” mistakenly singled out the fan, questioning why they were seated.
“What are you doing sitting down over there? Why are you sitting down?” she yelled.
Approaching the wheelchair-bound fan, Madonna only realized her error when she reached the edge of the stage.
“Oh, OK. Politically incorrect,” Madonna acknowledged, thus recognizing her mistake of criticizing a disabled person in front of her sold-out crowd.
“Sorry about that,” she swiftly added in an attempt to backtrack from her initial aggressive tone.
The singer then expressed gratitude for the fan’s presence.
“I’m glad you’re here,” she said.
Outrage erupted online, with comments flooding platforms like X and TikTok, expressing disappointment in Madonna’s handling of the situation.
“She should have been canceled for this,” one user wrote.
“What The F this b**** want? I may be in a wheelchair, just underwent surgery, chemo, whatever. I do what the f*** want to do. I don’t have to wake up just coz u say so… Politically incorrect she said. F OFF ?” declared another.
