Did She Die Because She Was Drunk?

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – An embarrassing revelation now shows that billionaire Angela Chao, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s sister-in-law, was intoxicated when she perished last month after accidentally driving her car into a Texas ranch pond.

Chao was under the influence of alcohol, nearly three times over the legal limit, when she mistakenly reversed her Tesla into a pond on a ranch in Texas, leading to her death.

This information comes from a detailed report by the Blanco County Sheriff’s Office released on Wednesday.

It was noted that while attempting a three-point turn, Chao inadvertently drove her vehicle into the water.

The investigation by the sheriff’s office concluded that the incident on February 10th, leading to Chao’s death, was a tragic accident, The New York Post reports.

The circumstances leading to it involved Chao, the previous CEO of the Foremost Group, a notable name in the shipping industry.

She was spending time with seven friends at a vast, private estate in the Texas Hill Country, looking forward to a celebratory weekend.

After dinner at the estate’s guesthouse, Chao, 50, decided to drive to her accommodations on the property in her Tesla Model X SUV at around 11:37 p.m.

Surveillance footage captured her walking unsteadily to her car. Shortly after, in a state of alarm, she called her friends, telling them she had reversed over a bank and was sinking into a pond near the guesthouse.

During a desperate phone call at 11:42 p.m., Chao informed one of her friends, Amber Keinan, that she was trapped in the car as it filled with water.

Over an eight-minute conversation, as the vehicle sank fully, Chao expressed her fear of dying and conveyed her love to Keinan before the call ended.

“Chao told Keinan the water was rising and she was going to die and said ‘I love you’ to Keinan prior to the vehicle going under water,” police informed.

In an attempt to save her, other friends tried to reach the car by swimming, and Keinan used a kayak.

The authorities were alerted around 11:55 p.m., and officers arrived on the scene to try and rescue Chao from the car, which was located about 25 yards from the shore.

Despite their efforts, including breaking the driver’s side window to reach her, Chao was pronounced dead at 1:40 a.m. on February 11th.

Her blood alcohol concentration was significantly over the legal limit, highlighting the severe impairment at the time of the accident.

The ranch, the site of this tragic event, is linked to her spouse, Jim Breyer, a venture capitalist with an estimated net worth of $2.9 billion.

Chao’s sister Elaine Chao is married to McConnell (R-KY) and served as secretary of labor under President George W. Bush and secretary of transportation in President Donald Trump’s administration.
