(TheRedAlertNews.com) – House Republicans have just scored a resounding success in calling Hunter Biden’s bluff as the scandalous first son has literally chickened out of a public congressional hearing on the Biden family’s foreign business dealings despite previously insisting on one.
The younger Biden has now declined an offer from the House Oversight Committee Chair, James Comer (R-KY), to testify under oath publicly in the House probe alongside his former business associates Devon Archer, Tony Bobulinski, and Jason Galanis.
Hunter Biden’s defense attorney, Abbe D. Lowell, expressed strong disapproval of the proposed public hearing in a letter to Comer.
“Your blatant planned-for-media event is not a proper proceeding but an obvious attempt to throw a Hail Mary pass after the game has ended,”
Lowell also criticized the impeachment inquiry targeting President Joe Biden by claiming that the testimony of certain witnesses does little to implicate Joe Biden in his son’s overseas business ventures.
“President Biden has done nothing wrong and certainly nothing, even in your misapplication of the impeachment provisions of the Constitution, to warrant further proceedings,” the first son’s lawyer alleged.
“As Mr. Biden said numerous times, backed up by an accurate reference to the records in the Committees’ possession, his father was never involved in or derived any financial benefit from Mr. Biden’s businesses,” Lowell added, cited by National Review.
In his closed-door congressional testimony last month, Hunter Biden acknowledged that his father met with various international business partners during his vice presidency but insisted that his father had no involvement in his business dealings.
Lowell minimized the significance of these meetings and accused Comer of selectively using evidence against his client.
He also criticized Galanis, Bobulinski, and Alexander Smirnov, an indicted former FBI informant, for falsely accusing the Bidens of corruption.
Meanwhile, Bobulinski has expressed eagerness to testify and disappointment in Hunter Biden’s decision to avoid the public hearing.
“One week from today – on Wednesday, March 20 – I will testify publicly before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. I am excited and happy to have the opportunity to once again share the facts with the American people,” Bobulinski told National Review.
“I was disappointed to see the news today that Hunter is running away from his chance to tell the American people the truth. He’s been adamant in wanting to go before the American people, and Oversight is now giving him that opportunity. Now is the time to step up, Hunter, as you have said you want to do,” he added.
In his letter to Comer, Hunter Biden’s lawyer stated his client’s unwillingness to appear at the hearing without the inclusion of Trump’s family members, despite Trump not being directly involved in the impeachment inquiry.
“The House Oversight Committee has called Hunter Biden’s bluff. Hunter Biden for months stated he wanted a public hearing, but now that one has been offered alongside his business associates that he worked with for years, he is refusing to come,” Comer reacted in a statement.
“Next week’s hearing with Hunter Biden and his associates is moving forward and we fully expect Hunter Biden to participate. The American people demand the truth and accountability for the Bidens’ corruption,” he concluded.
