Swift’s concert special titled “The Eras Tour” achieved the milestone on Disney+, setting a new high-water mark for any music documentary on the streaming service, The Hill reports.
The engagement of Swift’s fanbase was evident saw them dedicate 16.2 million hours to watching the 3.5-hour concert film within a mere span of three days.
The platform defines a “view” as the total time spent streaming divided by the program’s duration.
In this film, Swift introduced audiences to new renditions of her hits including “Cardigan,” “Maroon,” “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” among others.
The report comments that as one of the globe’s most prominent pop icons, Swift demonstrates through the success of her concert film on Disney+ both the consistent allure she holds over her audience and the significant role that live sports, exclusive concerts, and similar events play for major media corporations in digital streaming.
Furthermore, this year’s Super Bowl, which experienced heightened attention partly because of Swift’s relationship with Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, attracted a historic viewership of 123 million people worldwide.
There have been reports that Swift intends to endorse Joe Biden for reelection shortly.
At the end of February, the president refused to say whether that would occur when asked about it on the NBC program “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
Instead, he joked that there was a conspiracy between him and the singer.
“Can you confirm or deny that there is an active conspiracy between you and Ms. Swift?” Meyers asked.
“Where are you getting this information? It’s classified,” Biden replied, as cited by Reuters.
“You think it might come around again?” Meyers asked regarding the potential endorsement.
“I told you, it’s classified,” the president repeated.
