ALERT: Israel Strikes Hard

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – In a decisive move, US ally Israel has moved to punish and cripple the Palestinian Islamist terror group Hamas for its October 7 massacre of Israeli and foreign civilians by starting to flood the terror group’s secret network of underground tunnels and facilities in the Gaza Strip.

On October 7, Hamas and its sister group, Islamic Jihad, used Gaza, which it has run since 2005, to invade Southern Israel and sadistically slaughter over 1,400 people, among them 33 US citizens, while kidnapping about 240 others.

This has led Israel to launch a wide-ranging military operation into the densely populated enclave to destroy the pro-Iran terrorist network.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have now started an operation to inject seawater into the tunnel network in Gaza, believed to be utilized by Hamas, The Wall Street Journal reports, as cited by The Jerusalem Post.

This information, disclosed by unnamed US officials, suggests that the process could extend over several weeks.

Officials from the Biden administration have indicated that this strategy could effectively neutralize the tunnels.

These underground structures are presumed by Israel to be shelters for hostages, combatants, and weaponry, according to the Journal.

However, there are apprehensions among some officials that this action might jeopardize the freshwater resources in Gaza, the newspaper notes.

The commencement of this flooding operation follows the IDF’s recent enhancement of its existing setup. They added two additional pumps to the five previously explicitly installed for this purpose last month, as revealed by US officials to The Journal.

The initial five substantial pumps were set up north of the al-Shati refugee camp over the past month, each designed to channel several thousand cubic meters of seawater into the tunnels.

A similar measure occurred in 2015 when Egypt inundated tunnels between the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula with seawater.

This led to grievances concerning the detrimental impact on the soil in that region.

The report points out that the efficacy of this flooding technique remains uncertain due to the unique construction and layout of the tunnels. It’s unclear if this method will be a comprehensive solution to the tunnel threat, or if it will be an effective, albeit one of many, critical strategies.

This operation could span several weeks, potentially allowing time for Hamas fighters to evacuate, possibly taking hostages along.

It remains uncertain if Israel will delay the operation until all hostages are secured.
