‘America’s Mayor’ Broke?!

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – In a development bringing shame to the entire nation, “America’s Mayor” Rudy Giuliani, who took down the NY mafia and led the 9/11 relief, has seen himself forced to file for bankruptcy after a defamation ruling required him to pay $148 million to two leftist 2020 election workers.

The former Mayor of New York City, known for supporting former President Donald Trump’s efforts to contest the 2020 election results, faced a default judgment from the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, The Daily Caller reports.

This judgment found him responsible for defaming Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Wandera Moss by accusing them of voter fraud in ballot handling.

Subsequently, on Thursday, Giuliani filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

“The filing should be a surprise to no one. No person could have reasonably believed that Mayor Rudy Giuliani would be able to pay such a high punitive amount,” commented Giuliani’s adviser, Ted Goodman, as reported by The Hill.

“Chapter 11 will afford Mayor Giuliani the opportunity and time to pursue an appeal, while providing transparency for his finances under the supervision of the bankruptcy court, to ensure all creditors are treated equally and fairly throughout the process,” Goodman explained.

According to the bankruptcy filing, Giuliani estimates his liabilities to be between $100 million and $500 million, with assets below $10 million.

The filing effectively halts all ongoing civil litigation against Giuliani until the bankruptcy proceedings conclude.

Giuliani is also entangled in a separate legal battle, currently facing an indictment alongside Trump in the Superior Court of Fulton County in Georgia.

This indictment alleges criminal racketeering as part of a conspiracy to overturn Georgia’s electoral results in 2020. Giuliani has pleaded not guilty to these charges.

Reports suggest he has been struggling to finance his legal defense in this case, with Trump hosting a fundraiser for his legal fees in September 2023.

Giuliani’s career began as a lawyer in the Reagan administration, where he served as Associate Attorney General and U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

During this tenure, he was noted for successfully prosecuting prominent mob figures, including Anthony “Fat Tony” Salerno, in the Mafia Commission Trial of 1986, which significantly elevated his national profile.
