Federal Agents ‘Babysitting’ Who?!

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – Proving there are many dire consequences stemming from Joe Biden’s illegal alien invasion of the United States, federal agents who are supposed to be fighting major crimes have been downgraded to “babysitting” illegals for lack of other personnel.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents and air marshals from different parts of the United States are being redirected to assist with the recent increase in unauthorized immigration in Arizona’s Tucson sector along the Southern Border, The Daily Caller reports.

This shift in responsibilities is happening instead of their usual role in crime prevention, as reported by multiple federal officials to the conservative news outlet.

Under normal conditions, HSI agents are responsible for investigating a range of serious issues, including national security threats, terrorism, drug smuggling, child exploitation, human trafficking, illegal arms export, and financial crimes, among others.

The Tucson sector is experiencing a significant surge in migrant activity, which has overwhelmed Border Patrol agents.

This surge has led to the cancellation of training exercises, a checkpoint closure, a port of entry closure, and a temporary suspension of some social media activities, as revealed by internal agency communications obtained by the news outlet.

To manage the excess workload that Border Patrol cannot handle due to the surge and resource shortages, air marshals and HSI agents are stepping in, according to two Border Patrol agents and a federal law enforcement official knowledgeable about the situation.

A Border Patrol agent, familiar with the circumstances, described the role of HSI as essentially “babysitting” throughout the day.

“They’re helping with transport [of illegal immigrants] and security of overflow area, absolutely nothing related to HSI work, 100% babysitting,” disclosed the agent, who requested anonymity.

Thus, some HSI agents are required to accompany illegal immigrants to the hospital.

Another federal law enforcement official confirmed to The Caller that the duties of HSI in the Tucson sector involve transportation and overseeing illegal immigrants in custody.

John Modlin, the Tucson Sector Chief, reported that Border Patrol recorded 17,500 apprehensions of illegal migrants in the Tucson sector in just the previous week.

Additionally, Border Patrol agents from the northern and coastal borders of the U.S. are being summoned to assist in virtually processing migrants who have crossed into the Tucson sector illegally.

“This administration doesn’t care about the safety of American people if they are willing to take Air Marshals off flights,” commented one agent.
