Thousands of Cops Quit THIS City

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – In a mind-blowing demonstration of the moral bankruptcy of the left with its vicious pro-crime policies and anti-law and order crackdowns, thousands of police officers have quit Democrat-run New York City’s law enforcement this year alone, a report reveals.

In 2023, a striking number of officers have departed from the New York Police Department (NYPD) – over 2,500 to date, according to data reported by The New York Post.

This statistic, based on pension data from the department, marks the fourth-highest number in the last decade.

Notably, more than 1,000 of these officers chose to leave before reaching the 20-year mark, which is typically when they become eligible for pension benefits.

Patrick Hendry, the President of the Police Benevolent Association (PBA), communicated to the Post that the primary reason for this mass departure is the excessive workload.

“If the NYPD is going to survive these staffing reductions, it cannot just keep squeezing cops for more hours,” he emphasized.

This exodus comes amid significant decisions made by Democratic Mayor Eric Adams of New York City.

On November 16, Adams announced a hiring freeze within the NYPD as part of a strategy to manage the city’s escalating migrant crisis.

This decision came just two days after he declared that the city would not proceed with hiring a new class of 250 school safety agents, despite them currently undergoing training.

In the context of increasing safety concerns, the NYPD reported a significant rise in anti-Semitic attacks in October, with a 331% increase from September.

This surge in hate crimes followed a lethal terrorist attack by Hamas targeting multiple locations in southern Israel.

The sentiment among NYPD officers regarding these developments is one of widespread dissatisfaction and plans for departure.

“I keep in contact with the guys that I was in the police academy with and we all have the same notion. I think maybe 95% of us are planning on leaving,” one officer told The Post.

The trend of officers leaving the NYPD began to intensify following the 2020 death of George Floyd in police custody.

Since then, according to the New York Post and NYPD pension data, over 10,000 officers have left the force.
