ALERT: US Warship Attacked

Breaking news

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – A US Navy warship has come under attack by terrorist forces linked to the Islamic Republic of Iran, with several commercial ships also targeted. This is as tensions and terror acts in the Middle East have shown no signs of abating since the October 7 Islamist invasion of Israel.

An American destroyer and multiple commercial vessels were subjected to an assault on in the Red Sea, as reported by The Associated Press and The Daily Caller, with the US Department of Defense confirming the reports.

“We’re aware of reports regarding attacks on the USS Carney and commercial vessels in the Red Sea and will provide information as it becomes available,” the Pentagon said.

The onslaught against ships in the Red Sea started around 10 a.m. in Sanaa, Yemen’s capital controlled by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels, and continued for approximately five hours.

During this time, the USS Carney reportedly intercepted at least one drone. This information was provided to the AP by unnamed US officials.

Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree, a spokesperson for the Houthi rebels, who are linked to Iran and based in Yemen, declared the Houthis’ responsibility for attacking two Israeli ships in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden.

He said the attackers used a drone and a missile, according to The Times of Israel.

The Houthis, however, did not mention the attack on the USS Carney in their statement.

Yet, they indicated that their assaults would persist as long as the conflict between Israel and Hamas continues.

The British military confirmed the occurrence of drone attacks and explosions in the Red Sea, as per the AP report.

A rocket struck a British vessel flying the Bahamian flag while it was navigating off the western coast of Yemen.

Before the assault on the USS Carney, there were at least 38 similar attacks on US troops in the Middle East following the Hamas-initiated terror attacks on Israel on October 7.

This attack happened a day after US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin emphasized the importance of American global leadership at the Reagan National Defense Forum in Simi Valley, California.

“From Russia to China, from Hamas to Iran, our rivals and foes want to divide and weaken the United States — and to split us off from our allies and partners. So at this hinge in history, America must not waver,” Austin declared.
