(TheRedAlertNews.com) – One of the most vocal far-left Democrats in Congress, US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has been exposed as having a vested financial interest in promoting Joe Biden’s failed student loan forgiveness schemes to the detriment of American taxpayers, a report reveals.

As of 2022, Ocasio-Cortez, often referred to as AOC, owed the government between $15,000 and $50,000 for her student loans, according to her recent financial disclosure, The Washington Examiner reports, as cited by Newsmax.

As a US House of Representatives member, AOC earns an annual salary of $174,000.

The radical-left congresswoman’s 2021 financial disclosure showed she held up to $50,000 in student loan liability.

At the time, she declared her disappointment in Biden’s social spending plan worth a staggering $1.75 trillion and argued he had to be pressed on student debt forgiveness.

“I think given how much BBB [Build Back Better] has been slashed, there is more opportunity than ever to bring the heat on Biden to cancel student loans,” she said in an Instagram video, as cited by The Hill.

In May 2022, AOC wrote on X, previously known as Twitter, that a Marist poll revealed Biden’s low ratings among young Americans.

“Now would be a great time to cancel student loan debt, take significant climate action, and pass voting rights,” AOC concluded.

Newsmax notes that the US Supreme Court killed Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan in June, which would have cost American taxpayers a whopping $400 billion.

Refusing to give up on its initiative, in July, the Biden administration declared it would still cancel $39 billion in debt for over 800,000 borrowers.

This move has led two conservative groups to file a lawsuit in a federal court in Michigan, insisting that the new scheme should be blocked.

In August 2022, Ocasio-Cortez celebrated Biden’s student debt plan but demanded it be expanded even further.

“It was YOUR pushing, YOUR pressure, YOUR organizing that got them to this point,” Ocasio-Cortez posted on Instagram.

“I am very grateful for this watershed moment of a first step — it is so encouraging, thrilling, and has already changed SO many people’s lives. But I am also thinking about how this still leaves a question mark for those in the highest amounts of debt, who need the most amount of help. So let’s celebrate and keep going,” the radical leftist added.
