(TheRedAlertNews.com) – The sadistic Palestinian Islamist terrorists from Hamas are now being brought to reckoning for their heinous recent crimes in Israel as the Israeli military has undertaken a long-anticipated offensive against them in the Gaza Strip, causing the ground to “shake” beneath their feet.
On October 7, Hamas and its sister terrorist group, Islamic Jihad, attacked US ally Israel from Gaza and brutally massacred over 1,400 civilians. Thirty US citizens also perished in the slaughter.
Over the weekend, the Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, announced a significant escalation in the military conflict with Hamas, declaring the onset of a “new stage” in the war on the terrorists.
This was marked by the expansion of Israeli ground operations into Gaza, a tiny, overcrowded enclave of 2.2 million people, which has roughly the same area as the city of Detroit.
The development, which began on Friday, involves the deployment of tanks and infantry into Gaza, supported by extensive air and sea strikes, AP and The Daily Caller report.
“We moved to the next stage in the war. Last evening, the ground shook in Gaza. We attacked above ground and underground… The instructions to the forces are clear. The campaign will continue until further notice,” Gallant told reporters.
Despite these intensified operations, an IDF spokesperson clarified to ABC News on Friday that this escalation did not constitute a full-scale military invasion of Gaza.
On Friday, before these developments, Gallant had acknowledged the complexities of a potential ground invasion into Gaza. He predicted that such an incursion, especially aimed at dismantling Hamas’ extensive network of tunnels, would be a protracted endeavor.
In a press conference on Saturday, his first after the October 7 attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged to “save our country.”
“A state has two possibilities: to be or not to be. This is our test, and we are going to win it… this is the mission of my life,” he declared.
Israel is “ready to make sure that the murderers are going to pay the price for the massacre,” Netanyahu vowed.
“Our calls are very clear: to destroy the military and government ability of Hamas and return the victims home. We are fighting a war against barbarians. We have to win… because it’s our existence, but it’s affecting all of the Western civilization,” Israel’s leader declared.
