In a scene reminiscent of the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, unsettling video footage has surfaced, showing large numbers of children, all donning masks, congested within the confines of Chinese medical facilities.
This development comes as Communist China grapples with a mysterious pneumonia outbreak, occurring a mere three years after the initial emergence of COVID-19, The Daily Caller reports.
Beijing’s children’s hospital has been inundated with an influx of patients, reaching at least 7,000 per day, which starkly surpasses the hospital’s capacity.
Concurrently, a pediatric hospital in Tianjin has been facing a similar predicament.
Reports indicate that this facility has catered to over 13,000 children within its outpatient and emergency departments, per Sky News’ findings.
In response to this alarming situation, a spokesperson from China’s National Health Commission offered an explanation, suggesting that these infections are attributable to the convergence of multiple viral agents.
Furthermore, other health officials have pointed to specific factors exacerbating this health crisis.
According to Business Insider, they cite the “lifting of COVID-19 restrictions and the circulation of known pathogens” as key contributors to the rising infection rates.
Amid this escalating health emergency, Ministry spokesman Mi Feng issued a statement emphasizing the need for strategic responses.
“Efforts should be made to increase the opening of relevant clinics and treatment areas, extend service hours and increase the supply of medicines,” he said, as reported by Sky News.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has sought further details regarding the outbreak.
The organization described its request for information as a “routine” procedure aimed at understanding and helping manage the situation.
This health crisis in China unfolds against a backdrop of controversy and skepticism surrounding the Communist regime’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
